Abacus Staffing is seeking dynamic candidates for several available forklift operator positions with one of its major Distribution partners in the York area.
General Summary
The Forklift Operator is responsible for moving freight as directed.
Essential Functions:
?Familiarization and knowledge of warehouse locations.
?Must use a walkie-talkie to communicate with others.
?Responsible for performing all necessary preventative maintenance and safety checks at the beginning of each shift on their particular piece of equipment.
?Must always operate forklift in a completely safe manner.
?Must understand "Assembly Move Logs" and "Rework Logs" and all other forklift paperwork.
?Put away completed floorstands stock and components in appropriate locations as directed.
?Must ensure the accurate staging and loading of stock transfers.
?Restock assembly lines with components and stock from pre-assigned moves under the direction of the Scheduling Lead and Shipping and Receiving Supervisor
?Must Understand and have a working knowledge of the P.I.
?Must Understand Lot Codes and Expiration Dates of products.
?Load bails of waste cardboard onto the storage trailer and compact waste.
?Relocate unused stock and components from Floorstand Assembly Area into bulk storage, recording the moves on the appropriate form.
?Unload trucks and stage new components of cardboard entering the facility.
?Understand terminology used in Floorstand Area such as Line1-B1, SL3, SL5, TBR, PQA, WQA, etc.
?Remove scrap material from rack locations with appropriate forms.
?Complete a daily activity report.
?All other duties as assigned.
